Railway Rifle in Fallout 4 is a Ballistic Weapon. Railway Rifle is a rifle that fires railway spikes as projectiles. Ballistic Weapons are firearms that usually utilize conventional ammunition to inflict damage on targets. Weapons can be modified using the Weapons Workbench. Players would need to reach Local Leader rank 2 perk to craft a Weapons Workbench at a Settlement, or they can find these workbenches scattered all over the Commonwealth.

• This weapon fires railway spikes as projectiles.
• Ammo for this weapon can be hard to come by, but it can be cheap to buy and can be recovered from enemies you killed using this weapon.
• This weapon can do significant damage to limbs and sometimes pin limbs on walls.
• The other variant of this weapon is the Prototype Railway Rifle.
• You need the Gun Nut and Science! perks to improve this weapon.
• This weapon is affected by the Rifleman perk unless you replace the Standard Receiver with the Railway Rifle Automatic Piston Receiver at which point it is affected by the Commando perk.

• Can be found inside a blue railway car attached to a locomotive at Bedford Station. The weapon will spawn once you reach level 20.

• Unlike in the previous games, weapons in Fallout 4 are divided into three groups: normal, legendary, and unique. Normal weapons lack any special attributes. Legendary weapons come with random bonuses and are exclusively obtained from legendary enemies. Unique weapons come with predetermined names and will always retain the same special bonuses they came with. Unique weapons are often acquired through quests or purchased from merchants. While normal and legendary weapons may alter their names when modded, unique weapons maintain their original names.
