Combat Shotgun in Fallout 4 is a Ballistic Weapon. Combat Shotgun is a semi-automatic shotgun and is great for clearing out rooms and one-shotting enemies at close-range. Ballistic Weapons are firearms that usually utilize conventional ammunition to inflict damage on targets. Weapons can be modified using the Weapons Workbench. Players would need to reach Local Leader rank 2 perk to craft a Weapons Workbench at a Settlement, or they can find these workbenches scattered all over the Commonwealth.

• You need the Gun Nut Perk to improve this Weapon.
• This weapon's damage is affected by the Rifleman Perk.
• Replacing the Receiver with an Automatic Receiver of this weapon will make it an Automatic Weapon and it will receive the benefit of the Commando Perk.
• By default, this weapon utilizes an 8-round box magazine but can be upgraded with a 12-round extended magazine or a 32-round drum magazine.
• This weapon can be upgraded to be a fully automatic weapon at the expense of reduced range.
• There are 2 other variants for this shotgun: Justice and Le Fusil Terribles.

• Can be purchased from various merchants.
• Dropped by mercenaries guarding the Parsons State Insane Asylum.
• Dropped by raiders.
• Rewarded by completing part 1 of the Hull Breach quest.

• Unlike in the previous games, weapons in Fallout 4 are divided into three groups: normal, legendary, and unique. Normal weapons lack any special attributes. Legendary weapons come with random bonuses and are exclusively obtained from legendary enemies. Unique weapons come with predetermined names and will always retain the same special bonuses they came with. Unique weapons are often acquired through quests or purchased from merchants. While normal and legendary weapons may alter their names when modded, unique weapons maintain their original names.
