Kidnapped Trader is a repeatable and randomly available Radiant Quest in Fallout 4. You can obtain it by speaking to Preston Garvey, listening to Radio Freedom or by visiting a Settlement that happens to be in need of help. The overall objectives are similar but the locations vary depending on who is in need of help. They are vital for protecting your settlement network.

2. (Optional) Pay the ransom
3. Rescue the kidnapped trader from the location
4. Report back to the people of the original settlement

Walkthrough

Visit the settlement in need of help, and speak with the settlers there. They will request your assistance with one of their traders who have been kidnapped. You may do one of the following:

• (Optional) Pay the ransom off, ending the quest.
• Rescue the trader from their captors.

Visit the enemy encampment and eliminate all hostiles. Find the captive and escort them out; if they die, the quest fails. So don't let them die. Return to the settlers and speak to them to receive your caps reward.
