Crafting is a system in
Fallout 4 the player can use to create, upgrade and modify
Weapons,
Armor and
Settlements. Players will obtain various
Items as they traverse the Commonwealth which can then be broken down at a
Workbench into
Materials, converted into
mods and applied to gear. If a player has a certain recipe they want to craft, they will be able to select it so that anything that fulfills the requirement gets flagged in the world.
Rank 2 of the Local Leader Perk is required to craft any of the crafting stations at a Settlement.
Armor Workbenches can be used to transfer items or to scrap Armor, craft or attach Armor Mods, or to rename Armor. The Armorer Perk is required to create Armor Mods.
Chemistry Stations can be used to transfer items, or to craft Aid or Explosives. The Demolition Expert Perk is required to craft Explosives.
Power Armor Stations can be used to transfer items or to upgrade and modify your Power Armor with Power Armor Mods.
Weapons Workbenches can be used to transfer items or to scrap Weapons, craft or attach Weapon Mods, or to rename Weapons. The Blacksmith Perk is required to create Melee Weapon Mods. The Science! Perk is required to craft High-Tech Mods. The Gun Nut Perk is required to craft most Weapon Mods.
