V.A.T.S. (short for Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System) is an advance targeting system allows you to focus attacks on different parts of your enemies.While in VATS, time slows down and you are able to target enemies. Each queued attack takes up certain amount of your Action Points which depends on many factors such as weapon type, weapon weight, etc. After you're done queuing your attacks, use the Accept button to execute them. You may also cancel your attacks during the execution of attacks. Additionally, VATS allows you to execute Critical Hits. The perk Awareness also shows resistances to specific damage types on each part you focus.
