After speaking with Father on the rooftop during The Battle of Bunker Hill, return to the Institute (Location) and go to the conference room. Debate with the individuals here and agree to continue helping them. Father will name you successor as director. X6-88 is now a selectable Companion at this juncture. Speak to Allie Filmore to begin the next quest Mass Fusion.
