Karma is a mechanic in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. It is a reflection of the good and bad choices made by the player during the game. It affects how the inhabitants of the world perceive and react to the player. A player's karma rises or falls based on certain good or bad choices as defined by the game. As a player's karma level increases in either direction, it unlocks certain titles, events, and companions. NOTE As of release Affinity seems to have replaced Karma in Fallout 4.
