Cryo Mine in Fallout 4 is an Explosive Weapon. Cryo Mine is a placed explosive that works similarly to the Cryogenic Grenade where the explosion has a chance to slow down targets who survived the initial blast. Explosive Weapons are different from conventional firearms in that they are single-use and deliver potent explosive damage in the vicinity of the target. Explosive Weapons excel in dealing AoE damage, proving effective against groups of enemies or even heavily armored enemies. All Explosive Weapons have a maximum range of 93 and they exhibit a behavior in which they would act to have hit an invisible wall once they reach maximum range.

- Weapons can be modified using the Weapons Workbench. Players would need to reach Local Leader rank 2 perk to craft a Weapons Workbench at a Settlement, or they can find these workbenches scattered all over the Commonwealth. Unlike in the previous games, weapons in Fallout 4 are divided into three groups: normal, legendary, and unique. Normal weapons lack any special attributes. Legendary weapons come with random bonuses and are exclusively obtained from legendary enemies. Unique weapons come with predetermined names and will always retain the same special bonuses they came with. Unique weapons are often acquired through quests or purchased from merchants. While normal and legendary weapons may alter their names when modded, unique weapons maintain their original names.
