The school was originally a private school for elementary level students. Low on funding, the school's principal Jackie Hudson signed the institution on with a government experiment that promised continued funding upon perpetual compliance with the program. This was done without students', faculty, or parents' consent. The experiment was to test a new food paste that granted increased mental acuity. However, there were some detractors. As cited by Mr. Davidson's terminal entry, the side effects appeared to be irritability and restlessness. This was followed by his note of of an increase in visits to disciplinary staff by students. The paste dispensers and program were apparently installed and initialized over a week before the Great War. All attempts by students to bring real food were met with aggressive confiscation by school staff, and subsequent warnings over school announcements. These announcements can be found via holotape recordings on the bottom floor's podium and the top floor's auditorium after dispatching the Glowing One in the room.
